RESTRICTED ITEMS & LICENSES:
Not all items in Infinite Darkness are easy to come by, most of them are actually illegal or at the very least their trade is highly regulated, especially while in UGF territories and space stations. As a result of that, some items require the player character to first purchase a license before they are able to buy a particular item. Weapon permits are enforced by local and UGF governments - especially in cities of any notable size. The purpose of permits is to help keep the peace and to prevent the common criminal from packing more firepower than the average law enforcement official. Planets and even cities have different laws and protocols when it comes to weapons. On some planets, even pistols are forbidden. So keep this in mind when visiting new locales.

LICENSE FEES:A big part of Infinite Darkness is making sure that you have the right tool for the job. At times that might need something as simple as a testing and sample kit, obtaining rare or unknown resources and bringing them back to research your findings further. Other times it might mean having the biggest fucking gun possible in order to kill the Cthulhu like horror that is stalking towards you. So always come prepared and have a team that can tackle a variety of different situations.
License fees:
Yearly Registrations: Once granted and paid for, licensing information is uploaded to the applicant's PID. Item licences must be renewed every 2 years. Licences are granted PER licence tier, they cover weapons, armour and items. Having a 'Level 3' licence does not mean you are eligible to use all Restricted 3 weapons and armour. Item rarity will determine how easily you can find the item, if at all. Not having proper documentation can come with serious fines and prison time of up to 50 years. Licences are also additive, you must purchase a level 1 licence before you can purchase a level 2 licence. |
